A ray of light at St Bernadettes
St Bernadette’s Church Refurbishment
Refurbishment work has just commenced onsite at St Bernadette’s Church in Belfast. Built in 1967, the B+ listed modernist Church is distinguished for its use of innovative construction techniques and modern artwork by artists such as Dame Elisabeth Frink. The current project includes the renewal of the coloured dalle de verre glass panels which make up the main curved façade of the building, improved access and facilities for disabled users, new radiant heating system, thermal improvements and replacement of the existing flat roof. Work is due to be completed in February 2016.
